The biggest difference between the successful people and the unsuccessful is the belief that they can make their goals happen. Pray for wisdom from the Lord and He will guide you. "A person’s steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand their own way?" (Proverbs 20:24)

Believing in your own abilities is about being sure that you are going to reach the goal you have set despite everyone else putting you down. Everything we have in life is because of our belief that those things are possible.

7 Things you should do to start believing in your abilities.
  • Do not allow the garbage of negative social posts to clutter your mind. Rather focus on positive inspirational reading.
  • Get clarity of what you need in life verses to what you want. Define your values and you will have the answer to the question of what is important to you and what you are living for
  • Learn to accept compliments gracefully.
  • Fake it until you make it. Learn how to speak confidently and assertively.
  • Fear is the main thing that holds you back from believing in your abilities.  else. Don’t let fear stop you from achieving your goals. Do what you are afraid to do.
  • If you are feeling down, use your past to get motivated again - think about the awesome things that you used to do, you can do it again. Every day is a new opportunity. Change your attitude to be positive. Be thankful for what you have. Always see the good in life.

Friendly people are caring people, eager to provide encouragement and support when needed most.”
Rosabeth Moss Kanter
Words have such power, don’t they?
Words have the power to motivate or to break down. Sometimes we say things that can hurt or even bring an end to a treasured relationship. Many people are jealous of the success of others and will then tear them down, hurt and block those people. We need to break free of this toxic circle. We need to learn how to be happy for others and how to make a contribution in helping others make a difference

“Staying silent is like a slow growing cancer to the soul and a trait of a true coward. There is nothing intelligent about not standing up for yourself. You may not win every battle. However, everyone will at least know what you stood for—YOU.”
―
Shannon L. Alder

Do people tend to take advantage of your inability to stand up for yourself and to say "no"?

There is hope for you - you can learn to stand up for your rights and to not please others in everything you do. Assertiveness is essential for success.  Assertiveness is the key to good communication. It means that you are truthful to your true thoughts, feelings and what you believe in, while at the same time, showing respect for the other person. Assertiveness is to define your limits and choose your values. It is to know when to speak when to be silent, and to maintain your yes or no you

"Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak;
courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen."
Winston Churchill

To be assertive is not to be heartless - it's not the same as selfish.
And It is NOT to trample on others on your way to the top of the ladder of success.

Be tactful, but stand up for what you believe in even if you standing alone. This means that you should stand up for what is right even if no one agrees with you, and do the right thing in the face of your fears.

A few assertiveness techniques you may try:
  • Respect both yourself and the other people involved.
  • Have faith in your own abilities. Find out what your strengths are, use them to defend your position.
  • Always begin with a positive statement. A Few examples to try:
  • Compliment the other person, and mean it.
  • Apologize for anything you may have done wrong.
  • Acknowledge the other person. An example: “I can see why you feel that way".

When you are developing your assertiveness, you should:
  • Value yourself but you should remember your rights are not more important than anyone else's.
  • Be aware that each person is responsible for his or her own behavior.
  • Express your negative thoughts in a positive manner.

Reasons to stand up for your beliefs
The more we compromise our values, the more the negative impact is on our mental wellbeing.
Standing up for your beliefs will increase your self-confidence and develops self-respect, and Integrity.

Becoming assertive may not be of the easiest things you have ever done, but mastering it is one of the most rewarding.
Practice makes perfect.

WHAT inspires a chef to create a new recipe? What drives an explorer to explore distant places? What makes a child ask so many questions?
Picture
What about you? Do you have new ideas or are you looking for answers to intriguing questions? Curiosity can lead to many wonderful things and urges us to broaden our knowledge to penetrate to the core of things. Most of us will not become famous explorers or inventors, but f you make good use of this wonderful gift from God, you will lead a meaningful and joyous life.

Do you know the difference between an extraordinary life and an average life?
When you live a curious life, you do not live a life that is irresponsible, but you provoke originality in your everyday live. You will think more insightfully and live a life less ordinary. Your mind will be open to suggestions, different options, as well as new ways of viewing a situation.
"I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done"
(Psalm 143:5)
Do you know the difference between an extraordinary life and an average life?
When you live a curious life, you do not live a life that is irresponsible, but you provoke originality in your everyday live. You will think more insightfully and live a life less ordinary. Your mind will be open to suggestions, different options, as well as new ways of viewing a situation.

Three steps towards a more curious life:
Try to be responsible curious rather than judgmental or criticizing when new situations arise.
Learn from, and admit your mistakes. Only then, good judgment will develop.
Stop making assumptions about situations. Assumptions obstruct your view and will defeat you before you even begin.

Curiosity can be dangerous if not lived by the word of God. Curiosity for sin will lead to compromising or even in going astray such as the Prodigal Son. The young man asks his father for his inheritance, and went off to see what is in the outside world....he was soon broke with no one to help him. Curiosity led him to make poor life decisions.

Just be careful, keep this in mind while be responsible curious.

In a series of blog posts we will be looking at 7 courageous habits and characteristics needed
to life a bold life. We will start with the importance of decision making.

You need to consistently take action to build your confidence. Do not settle for less - If you hold back because of doubt, or the fear for making decisions, you live small - and cheat yourself out of a happy fulfilled life.

"A lot of people don't want to make their own decisions. They're too scared. It's much easier to be told what to do." Marilyn Manson

If you are not happy with your life right now, it could be wise to make an effort changing the way you are making decisions. We make dozens of decisions every day, and some of these decisions may have a profound effect on our lives. If we want to progress living a courageous life, we must learn to distinguish between right and wrong and then make decisions that reflect our own values, and not those of someone else.

One of the key components to becoming a great decision maker is learning to take full responsibility for your decisions.

Become the decision maker of your own life. Here are some tips:

- Establish a clear picture of your goals before you make your decision.
- Have a flexible approach towards your decisions.
- When you have to make a big decision, your first step is to get as much information as possible.
- Once a decision is made, act it through.
- Make a list of pros and cons, this is still a helpful method.
- Be relaxed, as you can then think clearer, and make a better choice.
- Do not be impulsive, think about past decisions and do not repeat the same mistakes.
